Why Arizona arrest records need more than one search
Arizona law starts from a presumption that public records held by government officers are open to inspection under A.R.S. ยง 39-121, subject to lawful limits. The state's public-records statutes do not require every sheriff to publish the same online roster or booking-photo view. Each county's official systems can differ, and a missing online photo does not establish that no booking record exists. The courts hold later case events; a booking entry alone does not show the final outcome.
ADCRR's Inmate Data Search serves a different purpose: it is for state-prison custody after the court and sentencing process, not a same-day county booking feed. The Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) publishes statewide Highway Patrol arrest and enforcement news, while a county or other custodial agency generally holds the booking record. Arizona Recent Arrests brings those separate layers together as a guide and does not assemble or host booking photos.
What the Arizona guide covers
The statewide pages explain the main record paths and the limits of each one:
- The Arizona recent-arrests home guide covers county booking sources, public-photo differences, warrants, and how to request a record.
- The County Directory points to the county sites; it is the site's only directory.
- The statewide same-day arrest guide and arrest-log guide explain two different kinds of updates.
- The VINE custody guide, Arizona records-law guide, and AZDPS arrest-news guide cover distinct state systems.
What this private guide cannot do
Arizona Recent Arrests is independently operated. It is not part of an Arizona sheriff's office, jail, corrections agency, or other government body. The site cannot access official custody systems or make decisions for the agencies that keep them.
- We cannot confirm a person's current custody, release someone, or arrange a transfer.
- We cannot post bond, arrange a visit, or send funds for anyone.
- We cannot give legal advice or act for a lawyer.
- We cannot promise that an agency page, phone number, fee, address, or record detail remains current.
Only the agency holding the person or record can confirm current custody, release, or a charge. ADCRR's search applies to state-prison custody, not a county jail booking.
Search partners and referrals
Some pages include search tools operated by outside providers. Those providers set their own prices and control their own results. If a visitor follows a partner tool to a paid signup, this site may receive a referral fee; that support helps keep the guide available. A referral does not give us control over the provider's service, charges, or search results.
